Features
• Especially for small workpieces, there are compressive stress rather than tensile stress left on the surface of workpieces
One benefit of using vitrified bond wheels is to reduce the effect of grinding heat conducted to the workpieces. Therefore, the fatigue strength of workpieces during operation is increased. For small parts, this effect is more obvious.
• Long dressing interval
With the high holding strength of vitrified bond along with the existing of porosity, each grain is fully utilized. Dressing and downtime are decreased. Compared with conventional abrasives, dressing interval can extend 200~300 times; while compared with Sol Gel abrasive, vitrified bond wheels can extend 20~30 times.
• Fine surface finish
Due to high holding strength and wear resistant of the bond material, premature dislodging as well as scratch on the workpiece surface can be avoided.
• Excellent roundness and cylindricity
Better roundness and cylindricity can be achieved than using conventional and Sol Gel abrasives. In addition, the stability of size accuracy is also higher. (Cpk≧1.67)
